Structural approach to description of reality in individual and social linguistic use. Pragmatics: speech act, constatative, performative (explicit and implicit). Theory of uttering: deixis of a speech act. Analysis of spontaneous speech. Theory of communicational strategies. Dialogue. Speaker and addressee in a speech exchange. Communicational strategies. Context: variation and universals in speech manifestations. Interface of syntax, semantics and prosody in speech exchange. Question of formal units in spontaneous speech: utterance, speech act, spoken paragraph. Strategic role of shifters. Formulation and focus in spontaneous speech. Role of miming and gesticulation.
Structuring a spoken corpus. Transcription problem. Software for acoustic analysis of spoken signals. Application potential: language acquisition, text-to-speech and speech-to-text technologies, forensic linguistics.
