Key moments, events and personalities of the history of France, basic elements of geography (mainland and overseas), specific role of Paris, position of France in Europe and the world and its connections with French-speaking areas.
Added to this are political, economic and socio-cultural milestones for understanding French culture and society in the past and present.
Tradition, values, customs, lifestyles, main structural systems (educational, legal, political, social, administrative), living culture, selected artistic fields, media, sports, current trends, stereotypes and images of France in the world are discussed.
Certain phenomena in fine arts, music, film, etc. are examined.
