The course introduces basic anthropological concepts: culture, symbolic, social structure, evolution and humanity, experience and practice, sensuality.
Culture: Historical overview of the notion of culture and etymological layers of its meaning. Critique of the concept of culture and basic kinds of its understanding and definitions. Culture as a way of life and habitus.
Symbolic: Culture as a symbolic sphere. Sign(icon, index, and symbol); and symbolic communication. Semiological understanding of subjectivation processes.
Social structure: Socialization, initialization and inculturation.
Evolution and humanity: Coevolution of human culture and nature. Category of humankind as biocultural whole.
Experience and practice: pragmatism, theories of practice.
Sensuality: cultural conditioning of sensory perception and sensodial conditioning of social practices.
