Definition of educational psychology.Theoretical and practical tasks of educational psychology (school psychology). Basic areas of educational psychology – diagnosing, counselling, prevention, intervention and evaluation. The contemporary paradigm of the school counselling. Historical development of educational psychology and actual trends. Psychological »classics« and contemporaries and their contribution to educational psychology. The development of school psychology in Slovenia. Research methods in educational psychology: descriptive and causal methods (experiment, quasi-experiment, action research). Qualitative research in educational psychology. Research techniques: interview, questionaires, tests.
