An overview and analysis of modern Chinese literature (the prominent authors and literary works), through the interpretation of historical political, religious, philosophical and aesthetic trends.
New function of literature and its interlinking with the reform and literary movements that resulted in the establishment of the PRC. The influence of the Western, especially Russian literary currents on the development of Chinese modern literature.
